He passed away of natural causes at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, on Friday the 13th — less than a month before Johnny Depp's highly anticipated big-screen re-creation of the Barnabas Collins role in a new Tim Burton version of Dark Shadows.

I was a HUGE fan of the original Dark Shadows soap in the 1970's and saw him in virtually all of his 594 episodes.
I saw star in Arsenic and Old Lace on Broadway in 1986/87. And last saw a glimpse of him onstage at the Dark Shadow's Convention in New York City last summer...
