In March 2011, an exhibition featuring the work of California sculptor John Frame opened at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. Filmmaker Johnny Coffeen explores the artist’s process, aesthetic philosophies and transition to stop-motion animation filmmaking. It is presented in the exhibition alongside Frame’s own film, which features his handmade characters. Frame's house, as it appears in the film, is largely the work of his own hands.
