Tonight is Oscars. I'll DVR the whole nonsense and selectively view it later this week....
I may have seen one or two nominated films this year... LOL...
The best thing about the Red Carpet is Joan Rivers... LOL. I've been enjoying the Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best show on WE this winter...
Gotta get it in gear for a full month of work ahead... Seven full five day work weeks til the Spring Break...
These breaks are the carrots on the ends of the stick...

Here's What I Think...
I THINK Bill Clinton should be allowed to be President again... Remember when he left us with a balanced budget? (Saw Chris Matthews' special this week on the Billster!)
I THINK the attack on teachers across this country is reprehensible...!
I THINK the timing of Obama's DOMA Executive Order was a trap to get the Righties all squawkie about this issue while the government was on the precipice of budgetary shutdown... To make the Repubs look small and shrill... Looks like the Repubs haven't taken the bait... Not yet... (Except for the frothy mix guy, but he's on the sidelines). But... the Repubs know that when this makes it to the Supremes the deck is stacked in their favor...
I THINK the attack on unions is a right wing attempt to destroy the Democratic party (see Rachel Maddow's excellent coverage of that thesis!)
I THINK Charlie Sheen should go start a Charm School.
I THINK an Arab neighbor needs to conquer Libya and then liberate them...
I THINK Michelle Obama will some day be the nation's first female Vice President...
I THINK it's tragic the way the powers that be are ignoring climate change...
I THINK it's somewhat shocking that the USA is still so dependent on oil...
I THINK that's enough of my completely unsolicited, uninformed wild guess appraisal of the issues of the week!...

Munson Diner's Life After Hell's Kitchen
It used to be parked in Hell's Kitchen at 11th Avenue and 49th Street.
Somebody bought it and dragged it to the Catskills. Where it has failed in several reincarnations....
The latest news, according to the New York Times:
Still, the Munson’s allure endures. He’s out his life savings. The 15 original investors have spent more than $400,000. But Mr. Moore would love to figure out how to try again, and the businessmen are committed to making something work. One option is to find the right operator in Liberty, which, alas, has not turned into the new Hamptons. Another is to move the Munson yet again. One potential buyer, it turns out, has expressed preliminary interest in moving it back to New York City, this time to Park Slope, in Brooklyn, where, if all goes well, women in evening dress could swap jokes with men in overalls — presumably husbands or significant others — once again... It’s early, but stay tuned.

Comment on Comments
Sometimes couched in grand word combinations that make no sense... Sometimes, a perfectly sterile looking remark but the person's name is actually a link to an advert... Foreign language ones. Some are sexy. Some not so much.
I gotta commend Blogger though, as they have caught them ALL and placed them in the Spam folder where I can easily glance and delete them...
I know from a reader's perspective that when I go to comment on friend's blogs, the word verification feature is tedious and frustrating...
And for those have both security features intact, I say... What are you afraid of?? Comment Verification alone is perfectly fine...
Blogger even reminds you from the dashboard that you have comments waiting to approve or deny...
I like it because I can be more aware of the reader's comments and also to see if it's a Blogger buddy it can remind me to swing by their place and look around and comment, too...
Now there are all those non-Blogger comment clients... And some work better than others... One friend uses one that I particularly despise... As it never recognizes me, and requires several stages of pull-down menus and passwords before I can log in to comment. He knows who he is... And he knows I do stop by his fishbowl and read much more than I actually comment...
And then there's a friend and blog reader who looked at this header and was horrified that it referred to something else. My comment to him?: Relaaaaaax...
Awareness Is An Answer
But, as BMB pointed out... The flaky oats probably lack the same nutritional punch... That had never occurred to me before... Dr Oz is always touting oatmeal on the telly... And if you freeze frame the DVR and look carefully at his bin, it's always quietly marked "Steel Cut" oats...
Took 35 minutes to cook these babies... Dag! And the pot will need a good soak
Yesterday's paperwork mission was accomplished!
Well almost... Today, Thursday, is the run to Kinko's to xerox everything and the Post Office to stand in line to mail all these things... And THEN to pickup all the neatly sorted piles of receipts off the floor...
The floor is clearly the best place to organize tasks like this! Big pillow helps! Ralphie agrees!
Oh... And also on today's agenda: Some serious deep cleaning, and possible furniture re-configuration...
You gotta pull out the couch to clean behind and under it, so you might as well move it across the room to a new spot... LOL.
Here's a pointer to fellow bloggers (Newcomer Danny especially!): It's best to compose your Blogger blog posts when the posting window is on the "Edit HTML" tab... When you are in "Compose" tab the constant automatic system updates invariably interrupt what you are doing, and can add mysterious HTML instructions to the body of your post... So keep it on "Edit HTML" if you ask me... Put it on compose when you want to tweak your font sizes or re-size or drag/drop an image).
Oh and later: Gotta attend a monthly business meeting (at a non-profit) in the late afternoon... And will try *not* to pull out my hair... Or what little bit remains at this age... These business meetings are a complete challenge to my full inventory of personal defects... And I gots to be on my proverbial toes! Ahhh... Awareness can be a bear!
