This advice seems counterproductive to birthing babies

So you guys know we're having a baby. Right? Right.

At the birthing class, in addition to the full information in the book, they also gave us this little summmary sheet to explain what happens during the different stages and what I, as coach, should do. Let's zoom in and see some of the advice.

If anyone owns Diplomacy, let's play

I'm listening to a podcast right now where this guy mentions that before his yearly Diplomacy game he has to always give a speech to tell people not to let the personal relationships that you have factor in to your actions in the game and to try and leave the game with the same relationships and friendships you started out with. Another guide twice states "WHAT HAPPENS IN DIPLOMACY STAYS IN DIPLOMACY"

Diplomacy is this board game where everyone starts as a country with different footing and builds alliances and usually, by the end of the game, people choose break those alliances in spectacular turns of fate. In the one game I played in like 7 years ago, someone at the end of the game completely went back on all of her alliances by surprise to pull out an unshared victory and it was awesome.

Now if I can just find a copy of the game, 6 other players (no more no less), and 4 hours to play it in, I'll be set. This is why I'm best off not owning this game: it would just sit on the shelf and make me sad. Regardless, I have just added it to my "Want in Trade" list to see if someone will trade me a copy.

Hiccup Girl is [allegedly] a murder

Video definitely not vital. Anyhow, the girl that hiccuped for 5 weeks straight back in 07 and made all the talk show circuits is now charged with first-degree murder for allegedly luring a man to a house where he was robbed and fatally shot.

We sell used and new product but any product we put on sale on our newsletters are all brand new unless stated otherwise. If you have purchased from our stores and have received a copy with the contents outside than yes in fact that would be our last copy. This is a measure just like other retailers use to prevent shoplifting. If our stores have another copy in the stock room you will receive the sealed one. All our Super Street Fighter 4, Demons Souls and all other games we sell for $19.99 on sale or in our bargain bins come from legitimate suppliers and are brand new. We have sold hundreds and hundreds of both titles at the new sale prices. It would be hard to have that many used rewrapped copies but if anyone has concerns with the game they received please return the item to one of our stores or website and we will replace it. We have been in business selling videogames for almost 20 years now and there is absolutely no need for us to sell used games as new. Unfortunately, in today’s big box market consumers sometimes don't trust independent companies like us. They can't believe we can have lower prices than the big stores and look for ridiculous reasons to justify our prices. It’s a shame as we have been selling videogames in Canada before Wal-Mart, Game Stop and Best Buy ever existed here. Last Night's Melt Private View

Thanks to everyone who managed to make it to last night’s opening party of the first ever Melt Art Fair at the Art Pavilion. The turn out was fantastic and it was great to catch up with a few old friends and chat to some of the other artists.

Unfortunately I’m not going to be in London this weekend so I can’t be here to mingle during the fair’s busiest two days. But the show carries on till 5pm Sunday, so if you are in London over the next few days and looking to check out the various art fairs then feel free to come along to Melt. It’s a great show, with some fantastic work, in an unusual and beautiful space, right in the middle of Mile End Park (a short walk from Mile End tube station).

Melt Art Fair - Opening Party (Wed 6pm - 8:30 pm)

Here are some photos from Monday’s installation of the Melt Art Fair at the Art Pavilion in Mile End Park. The venue has to be one of the most amazing exhibition spaces in London. As well as being an architecturally stunning building (half buried under a man-made hill), it is almost magical how the light reflects from the adjacent pool and plays across the ceiling and walls of the gallery interior.
Along with 40 artists from the UK and abroad, I will be exhibiting a couple of my sculptures, Fetish and Nail Box. Melt is an independent venture, organised by Arthemisia.eu, as an alternative to the established London art fairs, Frieze and Zoo.

Although Melt officially opened today, we will be having opening party/private view tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6pm – 8:30pm (although the gallery will be open from 11am to view the artwork) so please feel free to come along and join us for a drink and a chance to meet the artist involved.

The opening times are from 11am – 6pm, Tuesday 12th to Sunday 17th October (closing at 5pm on Sunday) and the private view/drinks reception will be Wednesday 13th October (6pm – 8:30pm)

Does not compute

A resident is late on rent this month for the second time in a row. He called me. One of the first things he said was that it was because he was late in filling out some paperwork that he needed in order to get his disbursement. One of the last things he said was that this time, it wasn't this fault that he was late.

VGP VISITS THE SONY HOLIDAY PREVIEW EVENT

Yesterday we had the chance to visit the Sony Fall Preview Event at the downtown Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. Inside the event hall we saw massive displays for Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, and Infamous 2 just to name a few.

Killzone 3 was fully playable in 3D, and displayed some of the best FPS graphics to date to go along with some high paced action, and all the high powered weapons we could handle. The Gran Turismo 5 area had full GT5 bucket seats, force feedback, and real gas and brake pedals to give you the full experience. Infamous 2 brought the same action packed, high energy experience we experienced last year with some updated powers and larger scale level design.

The Playstation Move was a large focus in the event room, with games like Socom 4, Lord of the Rings Aragons Quest, and the all new Time Crisis Rizing Storm just to name a few. Socom 4 made full use of the Move motion and navigation controller, with surprisingly accurate aiming and easy mobility across the level. Time Crisis got us extremely excited for this new arcade shooter to hit the shelves!

A couple sneak peeks of DJ Hero 2, Def Jam Rapstar, and RockBand 3 filled the event room with music, and watching groups of people try to rap there favourite songs in Def Jam Rapstar provided a lot of entertainment!

Overall Sony has some serious games coming to the market this Holiday and early next year!

Seems the folks at Panasonic of ill-fated 3DO console fame have been working on a new handheld video game console dubbed “The Jungle”. The system is designed solely around the concept of taking MMORPGs with you everywhere you go.
